Description: This project aims to use Understanding Society data and difference-in-difference methodology to investigate if the abolition of the Education Maintenance Allowance in England, had an impact on the mental health of young people. It is the first of two analyses which have been funded by the Understanding Society Policy Fellowship Scheme. The work is also supported by the Medical Research Council (MC_UU_00022/2) and the Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office (SPHSU17).
