Description: Resistance represents the interactional accomplishment whereby an individual temporarily suspends their partial or full collaboration with an interlocutor in the joint “definition of the situation” (Goffman 1959: 51), for example by disagreeing or disaffiliating with the interlocutor’s assertion or assessment, or by misaligning with the deontic or epistemic terms of the unfolding course of action (Humă, et al., frth.).
