Wiki Version:
The Canvas Course Export packages can be loaded into any Learning Management System, but will work best in Canvas. The two packages included here are described below. Canvas Course on Titles Learn what makes a good scientific title with examples from Nature. The course uses short lectures (Pages) and interactive content (Quizzes) to teach scientists how to write titles that convey the main message of their research. There is also a Discussion section where participants can post their own titles and get feedback from their peers or the instructor. The course will take most scientists under one hour to complete. It is organized as a single module so that it can be easily imported to an existing course without disrupting the course flow or organization. In addition to the published content there are five unpublished quizzes. These are short answer questions in which the scientist is asked to write and submit a title for an abstract. If you use these questions, they will need to be included in the Course Modules and the instructor will need to grade the submissions. Although primarily aimed at graduate students, any scientist from undergraduate science students to senior researchers will benefit from this course.. You can also get this course from Canvas Commons at the following link. https://lor.instructure.com/resources/7febbbd75e9c467aac486d5eefb847ed?shared Canvas Course on Abstracts Learn what makes a good scientific abstract with examples from Nature and Science.
