Description: Conventional evaluation of the impact of scientific publications is carried out using metrics such as the Journal Impact Factor or the h-index. The representation of success or failure included in one indicator is controversial and is rejected by some researchers. In addition to metrics on a proprietary basis, open data is increasingly available. In the context of the ROSI project, new views and visualisations of open bibliometrics and alternative metrics (altmetrics) are being developed and their impact on researchers investigated. For this purpose, data from open sources will be collected via persistent identifiers of persons, documents or organisations. The information can be presented and compared on different data aggregation levels. Furthermore, a reference implementation based on VIVO will be developed in which various metrics with data from open sources such as Crossref Event Data or Wikidata are combined. VIVO is community-driven open source software that is used for research information systems, among others. Interviews and workshops with researchers will be conducted to gather their requirements concerning scientometric data. Findings from the interviews and workshops will be incorporated into the reference implementation in an iterative process. The selection of the indicators, the data aggregation levels and data visualisation types will be addressed. The project has two objectives that are intertwined. First, the project aims to gather the requirements of researchers when it comes to scientometric data. Second, a reference implementation of a tool will be implemented which reflects the study outcomes and enables the open analysis of the output of researchers, contributors and organisations.
