Wiki Version:
As open science practices become more prevalent in the field of education research, there is a need to explicate the process for publishing green open access (i.e., posting and updating preprints and postprints). In this workshop, we will introduce different preprint repositories including education-specific repositories, institutional repositories, funder repositories, and professional sites (e.g., research gate); discuss how to locate journal and publisher policies regarding green open access; and how to post, label, and update preprints and postprints. We will also discuss the benefits of preprints and postprints and how scholars can begin to utilize green open-access publishing in their research. At the close of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to post or update a preprint/postprint utilizing the best-practice recommendations discussed in the workshop. We welcome open science beginners and experts, but workshop content and activities may be most applicable to open science novices or those who need additional practice posting and updating preprints/postprints.
