This project contains hand-collected data on (1) state policies regarding personal finance course requirements for high school graduation; (2) the school-level maximum personal finance inclusion from the following list: a required standalone personal finance course, a required course that includes personal finance content in another subject, a standalone personal finance elective, an elective with personal finance embedded in the content but not as the primary subject, no content related to personal finance at all. These data are from all high schools with course catalogs across the United States from 2019-2020 through 2022-2023; (3) the specific courses required and/or offered at all high schools with course catalogs across the United States for the 2022-2023 academic year. Any discrepancies, errors, or questions should be sent to carly.urban@montana.edu.
