Description: The overall goal of the project is to investigate how dropout from high school is associated with both depression and protective factors in late adolescence. We aim to investigate how symptoms of depression in late adolescence are associated with later high school functioning and completion for boys and girls separately, and for different grades of symptom severity. We further aim to investigate how protective factors in the individual, the family and the broader social surroundings are associated with these school variables. A further goal is to compare the influence of each of these protective factors and investigate how they can have a moderating influence on the association between symptoms of depression and later high school dropout.
