Guide to the files **Main files** - data.xlsx: this file contains all of the data on which subsequent analyses are based - analysis.R: this file perform the meta-analyses in R - analysis.m: this file does all of the plotting for the paper in Matlab, and outputs some of the information about the different datasets **helperFunctions** This folder contains a collection of Matlab functions called by analysis.m **preprocessing** This folder contains the files used in order to create the data.xlsx document. Here is a brief explanation of the preprocessing process. - We downloaded the Confidence Database (available at https://osf.io/s46pr/) in October 2020. - We then ran preprocess1.py in Python, which outputs 216 .mat files with information about each dataset, saved in the folder "preprocess1". - Slight additional preprocessing was run using preprocess2.m in Matlab resulting in a separate set of fully preprocessed 216 files saved in the folder "preprocess2". - The information from the .mat files was then extracted and outputted to data216_matlabPortion.xlsx using the file exportToExcel.m. - Finally, the file data216_matlabPortion.xlsx was augmented with information from the Confidence Database (specifically, from the file Database_Information.xlsx provided at https://osf.io/s46pr/). This resulted in the file data216.xlsx. - Finally, the two entries with n=3 were removed from this file and the resulting file, data.xlsx, is the one that was used for all analyses.
