Description: Although we have strong evidence that indicates on attitudes as a source of strong bias in moral cognition of other’s behaviour and character, the mechanism that underlines this influence remains unidentified. Similar, the conditions under which the influence of interpersonal attitudes on attributions of moral character could be reduced remain unclear. In this project, we investigated to what extent three debiasing interventions requiring different levels of cognitive effort: impression updating, education and accountability would reduce the impact of interpersonal attitudes on attributions of moral character.
