Wiki Version:
This scoping review had the following objectives: 1. Map the explicit knowledge content from the GPEI literature to a set of global health domains 2. Map the explicit knowledge the GPEI key partners (WHO, UNICEF, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, CDC, Rotary International) 3. Identify more focused topics within the larger body of literature for which systematic reviews can be conducted We searched PubMed for literature on the implementation of the GPEI from January 1, 1988 through April 18, 2018. We excluded literature on post-polio physiology, lab studies that were only focused on understanding hte polio virus or how vaccines work to protect against polio, and wild polio virus/vaccine-derived poliog studies that were only lab-focused. We also excluded documents that related to *only* high-income settings. Finally, we excluded documents in languages other than English.
