Processing a reflexive pronoun requires identifying a feature-matched
subject. Yet, consulting the agreement features on the verb can potentially
provide a "shortcut" for this process. We present evidence from the
processing of Hebrew gender agreement that indeed verbal agreement affects
the computation of reflexive dependencies suggesting either that the
representation of the subject is altered in cases of a mismatching verb, or
that the subject is not retrieved at the reflexive when there are enough
agreement cues on the verb.
