Description: The objective of this study is to comprehend what kind of attributes people value when they trust or mistrust a scientist. For instance, do members of the public have a high opinion of female, liberal, or ethnic minority scientists? Do they tend to have a higher opinion of scientists working for the university than scientists working for the industry? Or does their trust depend on the scientific field that a scientist is engaged with? Last but not least, the study will shed light on how the public preferences for certain attributes of scientists interact with the tendency towards conspiratorial thinking and the appreciation of science in general.
