This repository contains the reading stimuli, data, and data analysis scripts in R used in the study. For ease of use, we recommend opening the "background_speech.Rproj" project file in RStudio- this will ensure that all directories in the scripts will work properly. The files are separated in folders for each of the three experiments. For each experiment, the data and the data analysis scripts can be found in the "data" and "analysis" folders, respectively . The reading stimuli used in the experiment can be found in "corpus". Some functions used in the analyses/ pre-processing can be found in "functions". The "Models" folder contains the saved (G)LMM models from the paper (so that you don't have to run them again). "Plots" contains figures used in the paper, as well as some others that weren't included in it. The data analysis scripts are generally commented on.
