Description: Borgomaneri et al. showed that right and left dorsal prefrontal cortices are necessary for the post-retrieval modification of learned fear memories. Transcranial magnetic stimulation over dorsal prefrontal cortices following memory reactivation erased the behavioral expression of fear memory 48h after acquisition, and prevented the return of fear.
