Description: Abstract Objective: This scoping review will identify: i) what occupational therapy interventions exist for adults with anxiety; and ii) the characteristics of these interventions, including outcomes measures used and impact observed. Introduction: As the presence of anxiety is linked to decreased life quality and wellbeing, there is growing urgency for high-quality research into occupational therapy interventions. Developing an overview of studies of occupational therapy interventions for people with anxiety—including identifying their characteristics—is a necessary first step to understand the existing knowledge and can help to increase the impact of future interventions. Inclusion criteria: The review will consider all studies and publications of occupational therapy that include community-dwelling adults with a diagnosis of anxiety who are aged 18 years and older and have a primary diagnosis of an anxiety disorder as defined by DSM criteria. Methods: The databases to be searched include MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, Science Direct, PsycArticles, Psychological Database, and Embase. Unpublished studies and grey literature will be searched via OpenGrey and OALster. Rayyan QCRI will be used to manage the screening process. Titles and abstracts will be screened against the inclusion criteria. Potentially relevant studies will be retrieved in full and will be assessed in detail against the inclusion criteria. Study selection will be completed by two independent reviewers. Data will be extracted from papers using a data extraction tool. Data will be charted using the Template for Intervention Description and Replication (TIDieR) checklist in alignment with the review objectives.
