Description: Our empirical study “Bringing metaphors back to the streets: A corpus–based study for the identification and interpretation of rhetorical figures in street art” presents a set of qualitative and quantitative corpus-based analyses of figurative constructions (metaphors and other rhetorical figures) in an under-investigated and interpretatively rich visual genre: street art. With our study we propose an innovative and empirically tested data–driven procedure informed by cognitive linguistic and semiotic models for the identification and interpretation of figurative constructions in crisis-related street art in Athens, Greece (2015–2017). This OSF-repository contains information, such protocols and files used for reliability testing that was conducted.
