Description: The Scientific Reasoning Scale (Drummond & Fischhoff, 2017), a tool composed of 11 items validated in America and Turkey (Kaygisiz et al., 2018), aims to capture the skills necessary for individuals to evaluate scientific information beyond mere basic scientific literacy. Using a sample of Italian participants (18+), the present study aims to contribute to the validation of the Italian version of this scale adhering to the contemporary view of validity (Hubley & Zumbo, 2011; Sorgente & Zumbo, in press; Zumbo, 2005) and employing a psychometric approach that integrates Classical Test Theory (CTT) and Item Response Theory (IRT) (Bean & Bowen, 2021).
