The Department of Education organised three introductory R workshops for staff and students, two in July 2019 and one in March 2020. The workshops were delivered by Dr. Norbert Vanek and Dr. Connor Quinn. The first workshop covered four topics: Basic commands in R, Importing and exporting data, Selecting and summarising data, and Basic plots. The second workshop centred on useful ways to organise data, showed how to organise an analysis folder to support reproducible research, and ran a whole analysis pipeline from start to finish. The third workshop was a condensed version of the first two workshops using educationally relevant datasets and showing how different statistics look in R.
