Description: This is a production study on the Bor South dialect of Dinka (Nilo-Saharan, South Sudan), in which its Voice Quality, Tone, and Vowel Quality contrasts are orthogonally crossed. The study is based on 29 four-member minimal sets for Voice Quality (Modal vs. Breathy) and Tone (Low vs. High), across all seven of the Dinka vowels (/i, e, ɛ, a, ɔ, o, u/). These materials were elicited from eight native speakers, and the resulting recordings were subject to acoustic and statistical analyses.
