Wiki Version:
This project is an evaluation of the impact of participating in a "Citizen Science Project" on children's interest in science. Interested teachers across Newfoundland received materials for a project assessing the distribution of red squirrels and eastern chipmunks. Teachers of participating classes in the western region of Newfoundland were invited to take part in a pre-test post-test survey of their students. It is expected that participating in the citizen science project will increase future science intentions and current enjoyment by increased perceived need satisfaction of science (but not math).
