Description: The proposed study aims to build on previous work conducted by Rae and colleagues (2020), via the use of multivariate pattern analysis of fMRI data collected from a previous cohort of TS participants and controls. The project will re-analyse the fMRI data from Rae et al. (2020, Brain Communications) which looked at brain activity during an intentional inhibition task, in patients with Tourette syndrome and controls, to establish if multivariate representations of action and inhibition are more or less similar in patients with Tourette syndrome compared to controls, and whether individual differences in representational similarity correlate with symptom severity in the patient group (tic severity and premonitory urge sensations).
