This component contains the files to perform the analysis reported in the main results sections for the experiments. The main analysis scripts are `analysis_exp1.R`, `analysis_exp2.R`, and `analysis_exp3_combined.R`. They perform all analysis reported in the main text and produce the results figures. The analysis scripts need the following files: - The data files (`exp1_experimental.rda` to `exp3b_experimental.rda`) which are also contained here. They are produced by the scripts and data described in `data, data preparation, & demographics`. - The fitted models (`dsm_fits_exp1.rda`, `dsm_fits_exp2.rda`, `dsm_fits_exp3a.rda`, and `dsm_fits_exp3b.rda`). The files that produce the fitted models are described below. - A function helping in plotting (`vioplot.R`). The analysis scripts produce the results plots for the main text (`exp1_results.pdf`, `exp2_results.pdf`, and `exp3_combined_results.pdf`) as well as two files containing fitted LMMs for experiment 2 (`exp2_observed_mixed.rda` and `exp2_lmms_dsm.rda` ). In case those files containing LMM fits are present, they will be loaded, otherwise they will be created (which can take some time). ---------- The models are fitted by files `fit_dsm_exp1.R`, `fit_dsm_exp2.R`, `fit_dsm_exp3a.R`, and `fit_dsm_exp3b.R` which produce binary `R` files containing the fits and parameter values (`dsm_fits_exp1.rda`, `dsm_fits_exp2.rda`, `dsm_fits_exp3a.rda`, and `dsm_fits_exp3b.rda`). To fit the models the following files are needed: - The data (`exp1_experimental.rda` to `exp3b_experimental.rda`). - The functions governing the fitting process (contained in `fit.function.R`) - The DSM models (`dsm_exp1.R`, `dsm_exp2.R`, `dsm_exp3.R`). - The weighting functions (`weighting.functions.R`). ---------- This component also contains the file to perform the analysis of Experiments 3a and 3b separately (reported in the supplemental materials). These analysis scripts are `analysis_exp3a.R` and `analysis_exp3b.R` which also produce the results figures given in the supplemental materials: `exp3a_results.pdf`, `exp3b_results.pdf`, `supplemental_exp3a_know-xi.pdf`, `supplemental_exp3a_results.pdf`, `supplemental_exp3b_know-xi.pdf`, and `supplemental_exp3b_results.pdf`. ----------
