Description: This scoping review maps the existing literature on determinants and effects of "police response time to emergency calls". It seeks to answer the research questions 1) "What are the determinants of police response time to emergency calls?" 2) "What are the effects of police response time to emergency calls?". It considers (quasi-) experimental, and observational study designs. It includes literature from all geographic origins, all years published, and considers both grey and academic literature. Only literature in English is considered. This protocol follows the PRISMA-ScR checklist to ensure quality and completeness of the scoping review. The synthesis of the results is done based on qualitative narrative approach and, where/if possible, statistical meta-analysis. As an additional end product it proposes a causal graph of police response time.
