Wiki Version:
Expectations ------------ *Describe the outcomes you expect/suspect/guesstimate for this study and explain why. Estimate the effect sizes you expect to find, for both the mean reaction time difference and the ex-Gaussian fitted RTV.* In Sripada et al. (2014), depleted participants performed the MSIT with greater reaction time variability (RTV) than non-depleted participants d = 0.69 (both groups received placebo). Previous meta-analysis (Hagger et al., 2010) revealed an overall effect size across all tasks of d = 0.62. Thus, it is reasonable to expect that the MSIT performance for the depletion group would be less than that of the no depletion group, with estimated effect sizes around d = 0.6 for both the ex-Gaussian fitted RTV and mean reaction time.
