Description: Digital flourishing is defined as the positive perceptions of an individual’s experiences and behaviors in digital communication. The concept refers to a mindful approach to digital communication use, which enables taking advantage of digital communication and supports thriving in various life domains while avoiding harm. The core dimensions of digital flourishing are connectedness, positive social comparison, authentic self-presentation, civil participation, and self-control (Janicke-Bowles et al., 2023). We lack knowledge of how digital flourishing occurs among adolescents and how it develops over time. The current three-wave panel aimed to identify distinct trajectories of digital flourishing over a period of one year by conducting latent class growth analysis. The belongingness to different trajectories was explored by investigating whether adolescents’ developmental changes (i.e.,, measured with age) and digital divide determinants, such as parental education, ethnicity, parental mediation style, and parental digital skills, predict their membership to different trajectories of digital flourishing.
