Description: The purpose of this study is to compare the perception of pitch in speech and pulse trains for native Mandarin listeners. We predict that their accuracy in classifying rising, falling, and flat pitch directions in both stimulus types will roughly pattern together. This would contrast our results for native English listeners, who found classifying pitch in speech significantly more difficult.
