Getting started with programming can be challenging as an aspiring PhD-student in the vast field of neuroscience and biomedical research! Our course familiarizes you with all basic knowledge of designing experiments and scientific computing using Python - in a gentle way. **The theoretical part includes:** - general introduction to programming - elementary components of programming (conditionals, loops, sequences, functions) - Python syntax - short overview of object-orientation in python - introduction to PsychoPy and scientific computing modules **The practical part contains:** - building a psychological experiment with Psychopy - analysis of a Pokémon dataset with several scientific computing modules **Special thanks goes to...** ...Prof. Dr. Michale Wand (Visual Computing, Computer Science Department, Uni Mainz) who generously provided his slides on his lectures "Introduction to Programming" from WS2017/18
