Description: The notion of a transition-relevance place (TRP) was introduced by Sacks, Schegloff and Jefferson (1974) to explain how a current speaker and a next speaker coordinate turn-transitions in an orderly manner. A TRP coincides with the end of a turn-constructional unit (TCU) and identifies where transition to the next speaker may be possible.
