Wiki Version:
This page contains the class guide, lecture slides, and worksheets for my class *Research Methods (Part 2): Making Psychological Science Inclusive*. This class is a component of the course *Introduction to Psychology* at Tufts University. I taught this class in the Fall 2020 semester as a fully asynchronous, online course. The course is taught by a team of three instructors. The class follows *Research Methods (Part 1): How Psychologists Do Research* in which I discuss principles of psychological science, the scientific method, and types of research. The purpose of the current class is to place material covered in Research Methods (Part 1) in the context of colonialization in the past and present, as well as racial inequality and Western-centrism in psychological science. The course textbook is *Psychology* (13th Ed.) by Carole Wade, Carol Tavris, Samuel Sommers, and Lisa Shin. Citations to resources and links are provided on the lecture slides. Photo credits are provided on the lecture slides. On June 2, 2023 I uploaded slides from a talk about this lecture at the 2023 Association for Psychological Science Convention (Washington, D.C.). The talk was sponsored by the Society for Teaching in Psychology. Many thanks to Molly Metz for the invitation!
