For details on preregistration, README: Note: The experiment numbers in the files may not match the numbers in the titles due to the fact that we did run pilot studies prior to preregistration. The folders are numbered in accordance with the manuscript. Please use the data and r script on this page as opposed to going to the preregistration pages for analyses. The first preregistration covers experiments 1 and 2 (the only difference between experiments are the expressions belonged to all the same face in experiment 1 and in experiment 2 each expression belonged to a different face.) This preregistration was submitted via the preregistration challenge, the second and third preregistrations were not. The second preregistration is in reference to the footnoted experiment. The reason being is we neglected to control for start value of the response expression in the preregistration for that experiment. We corrected this error in our final preregistration, which reported an analysis controlling for the start value (and involved completely rerunning the experiment.)
