Description: This systemic reviews aims to identify, organize and examine measures designed, adapted or implemented for use in assessment of emotional well-being (EWB) for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This review extends previous review (Koslouski et al., 2022) and a review of reviews (Hall et al., 2023) by examining, critically appraising and comparing the psychometric properties of the identified measures to determine which measures exhibit the most valid and reliable for measuring EWB in IDD. This review uses the same pool of articles from Hall et al., (2023), and therefore uses the same definition of EWB and domains to assess EWB in published studies. Like Hall et al., (2023), we will use Park et al.'s (2022) definition of EWB which is defined as "a multidimensional composite that encompasses how positive an individual feels generally and about Iife overall. It has both experiential features such as the emotional quality or momentary and everyday experiences and reflective features such as judgements about life satisfaction, sense of meaning, and ability to pursue goals that can include and extend beyond the self. These features occur in the context of culture, life circumstances, resources, and life course". The central domains of this conceptualization of EWB include Positive Affect, Life Satisfaction, Goal Pursuit, Quality of Life, and Sense of Meaning (Park et al., 2022). Our aims are to identify and evaluate 1) how EWB is defined for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, 2) measures that have been used to assess EWB for individuals with IDD, what domains (other than EWB) they include, and what response format they use (e.g., proxy-report, self-report) 3) Which domains of EWB (using the domains from Park et al., 2022) are assessed in the items contained in those measures and 4) the psychometric properties of EWB measures for individuals with IDD.
