Wiki Version:
This research group, based out of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, is headed by: * Joss Ives: joss@phas.ubc.ca * Jared Stang: jared@phas.ubc.ca Our current project "Evidence-based best practices for two-stage collaborative exams" seeks to create, curate, and share evidence-based best practices for implementing two-stage collaborative groups. Our goal is to better understand the precise outcomes of group exams for students and how different implementation choices affect these outcomes by developing: 1. A flexible student survey to measure outcomes across implementations. 2. Group-exam student performance analysis tools. 3. An instructor inventory to collect both the range of implementations and expert recommendations. Combining these data, we will create, curate, and share evidence-based best practices Please visit the [Deliverables][1] component for posters, slides and papers. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support for this project provided by UBC Vancouver students via the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund. We acknowledge valuable contributions from Matias de Jong Van Lier, Simmer Mand, Nicolas Romualdi, Nutifafa Kwaku Sumah, Laura Super, and the UBC Physics and Astronomy Research group.
