Description: Very low-income individuals sought assistance from a legal services provider with consumer debt problems. We randomized which of too-numerous applicants would receive innovative self-help materials versus an offer of lawyer representation, and also which would receive Internet or telephone financial counseling versus paper-based counseling materials. Outcomes included the results of debt collection litigation and the pattern of credit scores over time.
