We've all had this happen to us: We come across an abstract of a paper that sounds super relevant, only to find that it's hidden behind a paywall. A quick solution is to get the paper from Sci-hub. In this initiative, I encourage everyone to take an additional step: To send a quick email to the corresponding author. It will take you 2 minutes: all the information you need is there, on the article's paywall page. You simply copy-and-paste author name, article title, and your own institution into the template which you can find in the files below, and send it. Authors will be made aware (1) that researchers are interested in their work, but struggle to get access to it, (2) of the win-win aspect of Open Access, and (3) of some practical advice that will help them to take easy steps towards Open Access.
