Description: During the past decades, there has been an increasing interest in alternative medical approaches that complement the biomedical approach to therapeutic treatment of diseases. Only little is known about the underpinning psychological processes that decide whether people seek help in biomedical or complementary medicine. In three studies, we tested the idea that the generalized political attitude of conspiracy mentality is a potent predictor of medical choices.
