Wiki Version:
The objective of this scoping review is to identify, evaluate and map postnatal care guidelines currently in use in Australia at a state and territory level (from government health departments), and a national level (from professional associations and research institutes). We will then compare the content and quality of these guidelines to the 2022 World Health Organization recommendations on maternal and newborn care for a positive postnatal experience, and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence 2021 Postnatal care guideline. We hope to create a single database of Australia's national, state, and territory postnatal care guidelines that may be used by policymakers and guideline developers to inform the development of Australia’s first national postnatal care guideline.
