Description: Using in-situ grafting of nitrocatechols the surface will be functionalized. Under the right circumstances the catechols may coordinate metal ions which may also coordinate a hydrogel based also on catechols. The reversibility of the system is based on the reversible character of the catechols, which may be controlled with either electrochemistry or pH.
