A Repository of Explanations for Existential Questions

During October 2019 and April 2020, we collected data from MTurk participants on explanations for existential questions. Specifically, we asked participants to generate explanations for existential questions like what happens after death, or why is there suffering in the world. Some of these explanations were classified by other participants as religious, scientific, both, or neither. Here, we make all generated explanations and classifications public for use of others in the community. This explanations repository includes 688 unique explanations. Some of these were used as stimuli for Davoodi & Lombrozo, 2021 (see OSF page https://osf.io/8ht46/)
