Wiki Version:
In this paper, we provide two worked examples based on existing empirical data sets that may aid an empirical researcher making responsible choices on their own data set. Every data set is unique, so universal guidelines are not possible, but we believe that providing representative scenarios of the many choices researchers typically face could aid researchers in navigating the transparency-privacy paradox. Please see a description of the datasets at the respective the wiki pages in the data component.
