Description: Data extraction forms link systematic reviews with primary research and provide the foundation for appraising, analysing, summarizing, and interpreting a body of evidence. This makes their development and pilot testing a crucial part of the systematic reviews process. Bias reducing methods of data extraction are also crucial to avoid errors. The aim of this project is to analyze the methods reported for the development and piloting of data extraction forms and the data extraction methods used in a sample of Cochrane and non-Cochrane systematic reviews.
