Wiki Version:
In this experiment we would like to investigate which factors influence the implicit and explicit attitudes towards female soccer players compared to male soccer players. Apparently, there is still the negative stereotype "females cannot play soccer" in Germany (Hermann & Vollmeyer, 2017). It was shown that soccer is explicitly rated as masculine (Plaza, Broiche, Brunel, & Ruchaud, 2017). As far as we know only three studies have focused on the stereotypes about female's soccer. However no study has investigated if there is a difference between implicit and explicit attitudes and which factors predict the different types of attitudes. Furthermore it has been shown that the gender identity of European female soccer players is more androdgynous according to Bem's gender schema theory. References: Hermann, J.M., & Vollmeyer, R.
