Description: Divergent thinking (DT) tasks are often used to measure creative potential and make claims about how creative abilities change over time or after an intervention. However, when you measure a person's creative potential and then repeat this later their performance can be quite different. This implies that creative abilities might not be stable or that DT tasks might be unreliable. This study presents a meta-analysis of existing literature to answer the research question: "How reliable are divergent thinking tasks for tracking creativity?".
