Contains the analysis scripts for the meta-analysis on model fit ($R^2$) and additional analysis.
The data of the current article is contained in the files produced by the scripts in the `data` component (`exp1_experimental.rda`, `exp2_experimental.rda`, `exp3a_experimental.rda`, and `exp3b_experimental.rda`), the data of Klauer et al. (2010) is also present in pre-prepared binary data files (`kbh_exp1_data.rda`, `kbh_exp3_data.rda`, and `kbh_exp4_data.rda`).
The model fitting is performed by a separate file for each experiment which uses other files (and need the data):
- The main fitting files: `fit.exp1.models.R`, `fit.exp3.models.R`, `fit.exp3.models.R`, `fit.klauer.e1.models.R`, `fit.klauer.exp3.models.R`, and `fit.klauer.eexp4.models.R`.
- The model files: `orig.dualsource.R` (DSM), `orig.oaksford.R` (PROB), `new.oaksford.R` (EX-PROB), and `orig.kl.R` (KL).
- Further there are the reduced model files `pure_form.R` and `pure_knowledge.R` (mentioned in the general discussion).
- Helper files for fitting: `fit.function.R` and `weighting.functions.R`
The fitted values are saved in a separate file per experiment: `fits_e1.rda`, `fits_e2.rda`, `fits_e3.rda`, `fits_klauer_e1.rda`, `fits_klauer_e3.rda`, and `fits_klauer_e4.rda`.
The meta-analysis and the additional analysis are performed by script `meta-analysis.R` which reads in the fitted values and produces the results reported in the manuscript as well as the results figures (`meta-analysis.pdf` and `meta_additional.pdf`). For the latter it needs the helper file `vioplot.R`.
The analysis of the specific predictions of the DSM noted in the introduction are performed in file `novel_prediction.R` which produces the file `models_novel_prediction.rda`.
