Wiki Version:
Expectations ------------ We expect that individuals in the control condition for the letter 'e' task will exhibit less depletion than those in the depletion condition during the multi-source interference task (MSIT). Specifically, individuals in the control condition will have significantly shorter reaction times during the MSIT than individuals in the depletion condition. We believe that the ego depletion effects are 'real.' Ergo, we expect this project to produce a significant effect size. We expect that the variability associated with the effect is larger than the literature suggests and that the size of the effect might be smaller than the literature suggests (e.g., Cohen's d = .2 to .3).
