Description: This is a protocol for a systematic review is to determine whether leisure-time physical activity (LTPA), and specifically meeting physical activity guidelines exclusively during leisure time, confers the same health benefits across occupations grouped by physical demands (i.e., primarily sitting vs. stationary standing vs. intermittent movement vs. hard labour). Secondary objectives of this systematic review are to examine the association between time spent sedentary during leisure time and health outcomes across the same occupational physical demand groups; and determine if time spent sitting during leisure time modulates/attenuates the associations between occupational physical demands and health outcomes.
