Description: Enamel wear is a condition following physiologic function of the stomatognathic system. Massive use of dental prosthetic restorations in clinical practice, through a range of different/ novel materials such as a number of materials based on ceramic, porcelain, zirconia, composite and others, have increased awareness regarding natural tooth integrity. As a number of laboratory simulation studies have attempted to mimic clinical conditions and physiologic mastication/ chewing cycles, we aim to appraise the available evidence from both in- vitro and clinical studies and if relevant to compare findings from these types of research designs.
