Description: Healthy literacy is the level of capacity individuals has to obtain, process and understand basic health information and services necessary to make appropriate health decisions. In the context of caregivers of high risk children, health literacy becomes a fundamental tool in health decision-making, reflecting directly on the future of these children (RATZAN & PARKER, 2000). Objective: This scoping review aims to map the available evidence about the resources used to promote the health literacy of caregivers of high risk children in outpatient follow-up. Inclusion criteria: This scoping review will consider studies that address resources used to promote health literacy of caregivers of high risk children, in the period between 2012 and 2022; age group: newborn: birth to 1 month, infant: 1 to 23 months, preschool: 2 to 5 years; condition: outpatient follow-up; languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese. Methods: This search will include MEDLINE, LILACS, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus and Web of Science, published in English, Spanish and Portuguese. A three-step strategy will be used, as defined by JBI. Two independent reviewers will analyze the titles and abstracts of the articles; full texts will be imported and analyzed using bibliographic reference software. Results will be displayed in tables and descriptive summaries.
