Category: Analysis

Description: We will analyse New Zealand Health Survey data to explore in detail patterns of smoking and vaping (e.g. explore ‘dual use’ of vapes and cigarettes, and assess the prevalence of vaping among people who never smoked or recently quit smoking) in key population groups, including among rangatahi Māori, and investigate whether there is an association between changes in vaping prevalence and smoking prevalence and rates of stopping smoking at population level. The study findings have the potential to inform advocacy and policy development for tobacco and vaping products.
