Description: As we continuously seek to bridge the intention-behaviour gap, behaviour researchers have acknowledged the potential influence of identity on behaviour. As we tease out this identity-behaviour relationship, it is imperative that we consider our alignment with identity and behavioural foundations. Theoretical, conceptual, and operational alignment are key to ensuring identity-behaviour research forms collaborative and holistic outcomes that represent relevant identity and behaviour underpinnings. This systematic scoping review considers a broad scope of identity-behaviour research to understand how research currently defines and measures the concept of identity, while also synthesising current empirical understandings of the role of identity in behaviour. *This research forms part of Kristie-Lee Alfrey's PhD Thesis. *Review registration is available via 'Components' *Publication supplementary materials are available via 'Files'.
