**Ethics**: The study has been approved by the Ethics Review Board of the Amsterdam School of Communication Science (ASCoR) under number 2021-YME-13571. (See certificate of ethical approval on the main page.) **Acknowledgements**: If you use (parts of) this study's open materials, please include the reference to the page (see citation) and include the following statement in your acknowledgements: "This study was funded by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (Principal Investigator: Dr. Jessica Taylor Piotrowski)." ***Project Structure*** The project consists of multiple components, with differing levels of access. If you would like access to a component that is not (yet) public, please e-mail d.a.devries@uva.nl **Main page**: This page includes: - *DigIQ* The latest version of the measure we developed for testing digital competence. - *Survey overviews*: Overviews of the items in the different rounds in the survey, including translations, sources, coding, and changes made after the previous round. - *Certificate of Ethical approval* from the University of Amsterdam - *Reports*: Most recent updates for our funder and stakeholders (in Dutch, English summary). **Survey development component**: This component describes the process of development of the survey for round 1. It includes descriptions of the previous versions and why and which changes were made. Please note that the documents in this component are all in Dutch. However, in the pre-registration of survey 1 (see component *Digital Competence across the Lifespan - Survey 1*) the survey development is also described in English. Furthermore, the pre-registration of survey 2 (see component *Digital Competence across the Lifespan - Survey 2*) describes the changes made for round 2 of the survey based on the findings of round 1. The most current information on the survey, including translations, sources, and coding are available as *survey overviews* on the main project page. These survey overviews also include a short description of changes made from the previous round. **DigIQ**: This page includes all versions of the DigIQ measure. The measure we developed to test digital skills and digital knowledge. **Digital Competence across the Lifespan – Survey 1 registration**: This is a pre-registration of the first round of the survey of the project. It describes the goals, research design, data collection process, and planned analyses for the first data collection (Spring 2021). This includes a description of how the survey was initially developed and of how it was tested. The output and code of these analyses can be found under "Analyses DigCom survey round 1" and are summarized in the pre-registration for round 2 (see component *Digital Competence across the Lifespan - Survey 2*) **Analyses DigCom survey round 1 component**: This page includes the code and output for the analyses of the first round of the DigCom survey. The methods and analyses were pre-registered here: https://osf.io/7gepv. An overview of the findings and the decisions made based on the analyses can be found in the the pre-registration of round 2 of the survey (see component Digital Competence across the Lifespan - Survey 2) **Digital Competence across the Lifespan – Survey 2 registration** This is a pre-registration of the second round of the survey of the project. It describes the goals, research design, data collection process, and planned analyses for the second data collection (Fall 2021). This includes a summary of the findings of round 1 of the survey and the decisions and changes made based on these findings. **Analyses DigCom survey round 2 component**: This page includes the code and output for the analyses of the second round of the DigCom survey. The methods and analyses were pre-registered here: https://osf.io/afrqu. **Reports and Presentations**: This page includes the reports written and slides of presentations given about this project. If you would like access to the data, please send a message to d.a.devries@uva.nl.
